- 2 ½ cups roasted and salted peanuts add ⅛ teaspoon salt if unsalted
- 1 ½ cups freeze dried bananas
Add peanuts to a food processor and fasten the lid.
Begin blending peanuts on high for 4-5 minutes, or until mixture becomes a thick and semi-smooth "paste".
Open the lid and and add freeze dried bananas. Replace lid and continue blending on high for another 3-4 minutes or until butter reaches desired consistency.
For best freshness, store in the fridge for up to two weeks.
Note: the peanuts will go through several stages before becoming luscious, creamy peanut butter. It looks a bit like: roughly chopped, finely chopped, a thick chunky paste, a thicker paste, a dough "ball”, and eventually a smooth and ultra creamy butter. For the first several minutes of blending, it feels as though the butter will never smooth out but don't give up! As blending continues, the nuts will release their natural oils and the butter will become super smooth and creamy.
If you feel your motor is losing steam or overheating, give it a 5 minute rest before blending again.
